EdCET 2008 Admission Notification

(In terms of G.O.Ms.No. 72 Edn.(SE Trg-1) department, dated 5-7-2004 and related amendments)

Applications in the prescribed form are invited for Education Common Entrance Test (Ed.CET-2008) for selection of candidates for admission into B.Ed. regular course in Colleges of Education in Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2008-2009.

Eligibility for Ed.CET-2008: The candidates should fulfill the following eligibility criteria

(a) The candidates should have passed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc.(Home Science)/B.C.A./B.B.M. examination from any University in Andhra Pradesh or a recognized University out side Andhra Pradesh.

(b) The candidates who are appearing for final degree examinations of 2008 are also eligible to appear for entrance examination.

(c) The candidates should have secured 45% marks or above in aggregate in the qualifying examination. However, for SC and ST candidates a mere pass is enough.

(d) The candidates should have completed 19 years of age on 01-07-2008

SUBMISSION OF FILLED IN APPLICATIONS

Prescribed printed application form along with ICR Bio-data form and information booklet can be had across the counters from all the Head Post Offices and the University Post Offices in the State of A.P. The application forms can also be had from e-seva centers in Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupathi, Warangal, Anantapur and Guntur cities.

The cost of each application form including Registration fee, service charges, postal charges, etc., is Rs.150/- to be paid in cash. Duly filled in application form, and ICR Bio-data form should be submitted in person or by Registered post / Speed post to the Convener, Ed.CET-2008, Ground floor, Vijayanagar Palace, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam - 530 017 on or before 5 p.m.18-04-2008.

SUBMISSION OF FILLED IN APPLICATIONS ONLINE

Applications also can be submitted online. However, a copy of the application downloaded along with two passport size photographs and D.D. for Rs.150/- drawn from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “The Secretary, APSCHE, payable at Hyderabad must to be sent to the Convener, Ed.CET-2008, Ground floor, Vijayanagar Palace, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam-530 017 on or before 5 p.m.18-04-2008. Note: 1) The convener shall not be in anyway responsible for postal delay or loss in transit etc.

2) The applications received after 5:00 P.M. on last date shall not be considered, what so ever may be the reason.

3) Incomplete applications will be rejected.

4) Candidate should carefully go through the information Booklet supplied along with application before filling up the application and ICR Bio-data form.

5) The candidate claiming to be a local candidate of a local University area is as defined in A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order 1974 and amendments there on.

6) Mere appearance at the entrance test (Ed.CET-2008) does not entitle a candidate for admission into B.Ed. course unless the stipulated eligibility conditions are satisfied

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR DIFFERENT METHODOLOGIES

The entrance examination will be conducted in five different methodologies:

1) Mathematics: Candidates with B.A./B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the group subject and B.C.A. candidates with Mathematics at intermediate level as a group subject are eligible.

2) Physical Science: Candidates with B.Sc. who have studied Physics and Chemistry or allied material sciences under Part-II group subjects and B.C.A. candidates with Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) at intermediate level as group subject are eligible.

3) Biological Sciences: Candidates with B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science) who have studied Botany and Zoology or allied Life Sciences under Part-II group subjects and B.C.A. candidates with Biological Sciences at intermediate level as group subject are eligible.

4) Social Studies: All candidates with B.A./B.Com./.B.B.M. and B.C.A. candidate with Social Sciences at intermediate level as group subject are eligible.

5) English: All candidates with B.A. (Special English)/M.A. in English Literature are eligible.
